In more recent years the river at Crantock has been manhandled by winter storms and now crosses the beach rather than sticking to its previous journey against the Pentire Headland. I’m sad to say this has caused some dramatic issues culminating in quite a few rescues by lifeguards and unfortunately one death. On this evening the drama was thankfully in the sky but still very much reflected in the curving river below too.
